Fruitcake Squares

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup shredded coconut
2 cups mixed candied fruit, cut-up
1 cup dates
1 cup nuts, coarsely chopped
1 15 oz. can sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

1. Melt butter and mix with crumbs. Pat into a 9×12 pan.

2. Cut dates into a small amount of flour to prevent sticking together.

3. Mix dates, coconut and fruit into sweetened condensed milk.

4. Put over crumb mixture and sprinkle on nuts.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

6. If using pyrex, bake at 325 degrees.

7. Cool completely before cutting.

8. Makes 54 squares.

9. Good keepers.
