Sweet & Sour Meatball Appetizers

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • cup chili sauce
  • cup red currant or grape jelly
Combine beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, milk, garlic, salt and pepper. form mixture into 40 meatballs, using a rounded teaspoon for each. Brown meatballs lightly in oil. Cover; cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Drain. Combine chili sauce and jelly and pour over meatballs. Heat, stirring until jelly is melted. Simmer 10-12 minutes until sauce thickens; baste occasionally.
