Yield: 2 loaves

Ingredients:

1 package yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup warm water
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 large egg, beaten
4 cup flour

Directions:

1. Mix yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/2 cup warm water.

2. Let sit 10 minutes.

3. Heat 1/4 cup butter, milk, 2 tablespoons sugar and salt until butter is melted.

4. Blend well with spoon in large bowl.

5. Add 1 large beaten egg and 1/2 cup flour.

6. Beat well 3 minutes.

7. Add rest of flour.

8. Knead until blisters appear on top of bread.

9. Place in bowl.

10. Grease top.

11. Cover with wax paper.

12. Let raise at least one hour.

13. Punch down and knead.

14. Makes 2 loaves.

15. Let rise for one hour after placing in loaf pan.

16. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 400 degrees.
