This is one of Grandma Veit’s recipes from Sally.

Ingredients:

Topping
1 egg
1 8 ounce pkg cream cheese
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 ounces chocolate chips
Cake layer
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/ teaspoons vanilla

Directions:

2. Beat together very well the cream cheese, egg, sugar and salt. Then add the chocolate chips.

3. Cake layer:

4. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, salt. Combine water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and beat well.

5. Place scant 1/3 cup of cake mixture in cup cake paper.

6. Top with 1 large teaspoon of topping.

7. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
